The studies concluded that girls were more likely to be praised for non-conforming to their gender, to act more like boys at their age, but young boys were more policed on staying within their gender. The birth of the Internet has made our lives easier. Instead of having to read a thick book to find basic answers, we go online. Finding information is just a click away. In many cases, technology has been a blessing; however, we have lose the tactile way of learning. Some people, like me, learn through touch. When we went to the special collection center, I touched and smelled the books. They had a historical odor to them, unlike the books today. The pages of the antique books were thick and made of cloth. The books we use today still have a stench and unlike old books, the pages are glossy and thin. The two forms of media I used for presenting the text was PowerPoint and a journal. You can choose different themes, fonts, slide transitions, and animations through PowerPoint. To give this media an aged look, I selected parchment paper as the theme. I had to make the background lighter because it was too dark and I couldn’t see my text. I used three typefaces and they were Edwa rdian, Papyrus, and Aldhabi. Edwardian is elegant, while Papyrus reminds me of treasure map type writing. I also chose to use Aldhabi because it was easy to read. PowerPoint allows you to transition your slides the way you want. I chose page curl as the transition for each slide because I felt as if I was reading a book. By using different computer graphics I am able to keep the readers engaged. Apples to Apples Players take turns judging which noun selected by a player from a hand of cards, each labeled with a noun, best matches on criteria such as funniest, most appropriate, or least appropriate an adjective printed on another card.
